In our never-ending quest to come up with some sort of consistent segment for Some Other Podcast, we’ve been through a bunch of ideas, but nothing has stuck yet. This time, though, we think we’ve stumbled on something good; the new segment that we’d like to try will be reviewing video game movies. Our first attempt (which will hopefully take place next week) will be with the 1993 Hoskins/Leguizamo masterpiece, Super Mario Bros. The general idea right now is that we will go in mostly chronological order with these, and see where we end up. This is where you guys and gals come in! We think we have a pretty comprehensive list so far, but we’d love to hear more suggestions if you think we missed anything. The only restriction is that it must be a movie at least loosely based on a video game. Hit the jump to check out our current list, and tell us what you think! We could also use a name for the segment….

I MUST write something about Silent Hill O_o muusstttt I have been a Silent Hill nut case and is my favorite game series.
Hmm names…Some Other Game Movie comes to mind as an obvious but appropriate solution.
Should also rate the best game to movie adaptations
I vote BloodRayne as the absolute worst. I’m going to have to watch all these again / some for the first time now.
Sadistic mofo that i am i am going to tell you to review Uwe’s Far Cry,that movie is so bad, so horrible that even I had regrets several days after seeing it.
and as above mentioned Silent Hill is a must, that movie is actually not bad as far as movie admonitions go if you dont compare it to much with the game.
Cool idea, after you run out of video game movies to watch. You girls should rent and play video game based movies and review/chat about them and how horrible they are. My pick for the first one.Street fighter the movie the game.
