I went through about four original Lynxes. Anecdotal, sure, but the reliability of those things was probably worse than 360s or early PS2s. Ended up with a Lynx II and that was fine. Ultimately traded it in for a PC Engine GT (Japanese TurboExpress). Still not sure if I regret that or not overall... certainly regret losing some of those Lynx games.

Since then I picked up another original Lynx (yes, it has issues, of course) and another Lynx II. I've managed to replace most of my games from way back when.

I still think it's one of the great unsung consoles. So many of the games were so ridiculously good. I really struggled to keep my list here to just five.

I had one of these (Lynx II) and I loved it. So far ahead of its time, similar to Apple's Newton MessagePad.

I bought mine new after it was discontinued on the cheap along with a ton of games, also heavily discounted. Battery drain was not really an issue for me since I also went to Radio Shack and bought a bunch of rechargeables and always made sure I had a couple juiced up.

I wish I knew what I did with mine... i either gave the whole lot to a friend of eBay'd it eventually... I regret it now... just like I regret getting rid of my Sega Saturn.
